From Sakya to Tingri, Tingri Hotel. |
DAY 9 |
To rent yaks from Tingri (4390m) and
trekking to Lungjiang (4150m) via Yalung Drok, the route
begins at the bridge on the southeast edge of town and
follows a well 'C' graded cart track for most of the way
to Lamma la (4880m). There are 3 passes on the trail to
Rongbuk of which the Lamma la pass is the highest. Cross
the east bank of the Rachu valley. Rachu valley is 5 hour
trek. Camp. |
DAY 10 |
Lungjiang to the base of Lamma la (4880m)
via Lamdu Drok. The area around this enclosure is the
last good campsite before Lamma. 6 hrs walk. Camp. |
DAY 11 |
From the base of Lamma la to Zangbo village
(4790m) at Rachu Valley, the highest permanent settlement
in the Everest Region. Pass Lamma la, Lamma la also known
as Zangpo la. The snowy peaks off to the south are the
foothills of Gyanchung Kang (7922m) and Cho Oyu (8153m).
6 hrs walk. Camp. |
DAY 12 |
Zangpo to the highest monastery in the
world, Rongbuk Monastery (4980m), lies near the foot of
the Mt. Everest, 4 hrs walk. Camp. |
DAY 13 |
From Dza Rongbuk, explore to Everest
Base Camp (5150m) and the Rongbuk Glacier which are less
than 2 hrs above the monastery, PM drive to Tingri for
5 hrs, Tingri hotel. |
DAY 14 |
Drive from Tingri (4390m) to Siling Village
which is located at the left-hand turn is the road to
the northern Base Camp, a few kilometers beyond this junction
is Selung (4690m), the largest village in this region
and the only permanent settlement en route to the Base
Camp. All of the nearly fifty families residing here are
herders; this is the place the hire yaks for expeditions
climbing Shisha Pangma. Selung is also the source of some
of the finest horses in Tibet. The Base Camp is another
15 kms from Selung around a ridge of barren hills. Tents. |
DAY 15 |
Morning explore Shisha Pangma Base Camp
(5330m), over the road beyond Selung is not Shisha Pangma,
but Gangbenchhan (7211m), and its pointy neighbour Phola
Gangchhan (Big Snow Grandfather - 7702m) also finally
come into view. Shisha Pangma (8046m) is probably the
least known of the world's fourteen highest peaks, despite
being only 80 kms northeast of Kathmandu. In the evening
return to Campsite. |
DAY 16 |
Drive to Zhangmu over Nyalam Tongla (5200m),
80 kms and to drive 3 hrs from Selung. Overnight at Zhangmu
Ganggyan Hotel. |
DAY 17 |
From Zhangmu down to Friendship Bridge
and transfer to Ktm. |

Sharlong to Pethang (4600m). 6 hrs walk. |

Pethang to Pethang Ringmo (5000m). 4
hrs walk. |
DAY 10 |
One day rest at Pethang Ringmo. |
DAY 11 |
Pethangm Ringmo to Pethang (4600m). 4
hrs walk. |

De Pethang to Sharlong (4000m). 5 1/2
hrs walk. |
DAY 13 |
Sharlong to the base of Langma La (5350m).

Drive from Kharta to the highest monastery
in the world Rongbuk Monastery (4980m), lies near the
foot of the Mt. Everest. 4 hrs walk. Camp. |
DAY 16 |
From Dza Rongbuk explore to Everest Base
camp (5150m) and the Rongbuk Glacier are less than 2 hrs
above the monastery, evening return to Rongbuk. |
DAY 17 |
Drive from Rongbuk to Tingri, Tingri
hotel, From Tingri to Zhangmu, Zhangmu Ganggyan Hotel. |
DAY 18 |
Exit from border. |

Cost includes:
All transfers and sightseeing by A.C. coach or car in Delhi, hotel accommodation
in Delhi (A.C on full board, Three star hotel). All hotels in Sikkim
are on full board, The transportation in Sikkim will be non A.C. coach
or cars, domestic air fare (Bagdogra - Delhi ) is also included in the
tour cost, train from Delhi to NJP will be A.C. 2 Tier Class.
Cost does not include:
Items of personal nature, laundry, alcohol, mineral water, beverages,
medical and health insurance, airport tax, personal phone calls. Guide
and entrance fees wherever applicable

Payment Terms and Conditions:
On confirmation of tour 50% of the total amount must be transferred
to Sumico Travels, account no. 54405005663, Standard Chartered Bank
Ltd, New Friends Colony, 20 Community center, New Delhi 110 065. Balance
50% is to be given at the time of arrival in India.
Cancellation:
30 days before the tour date, 10% of quotation would be charged as communicat
ion
charges. Thereafter, 35% of quotation would be charged. Cancellation
before 15 days from the tour due date would be on a no refund of advance
basis .
